Life is Fragile, How Will You Use It Today?

penciltalk_org_fragileLife is fragile. The Bible says that we are like a breath, here today and gone tomorrow.  All of us.  Some, a few days longer than others. But all of us have this in common.  Whether or not you believe in God, you can’t disagree with the fact that the life we have in its current physical state is temporary.  We are mortal.  All of us.

So take a moment and just think about that. Take a moment to breathe.

I had dinner with a friend last night who has stage 4 cancer.  I saw in her eyes something I’ll never forget.  I don’t know if I can put it in words really, but I’ll try.  Threatened with the reality of the face of death, she is totally wanting to seize every moment she has here on earth.  Like truly make a difference.  Here. In eternity.  She is believing that she will be healed, and I am completely believing with her.  Still, every day is a gift to live.

Today.  Every day. Every breath, and the one after that, and after that.  Like a child coming into the world, whose very first thing is to take a breath.  The very last thing we do is take a breath.  Every breath is between is truly a gift.  Every breath.

So what is on your mind right now that is stealing your breath, your thoughts? When you look back on the span of your life someday, wishing you had each moment back, is this thought worth those precious seconds, minutes, days? Perhaps, but perhaps not.  Maybe you need to let go of that thing.  What is stressing you? What is stealing your breath?

Cast your anxieties on Him, open up your hands to the heavens and let go of whatever that is.  He is here.  He has given us each breath, each moment.  He can handle it. He will give you true life.

You are significant. Think about that.  Your life, it is significant.  Each moment, each day is significant.  The Creator of the heavens knows you and can help you.  He will give you real life, the life you were created for.  This life could be yours.  This is the way it could be.  Thoughts?  Love to hear them in the comments below!

Very good post! I struggled a few months back really badly when my god passed away. It was a tough time, but God is good. I have been approaching live from a different viewpoint each day since. I know…it is just a dog, but really she was a very big part of my life now and even when I was a little child. You said it best in this blog, every day is a gift.
