Thoughts? Seriously, what do you think? We’d love to hear in the comments!! What other dumb Christian Bumper Stickers or sayings have you seen? Anything you don’t really understand??
I’m NO Craig Groeschel, but I DID Preach His Message at LifeChurch.tv…

I remember years ago when I was young my dad was driving and we come to a stop behind a car with a “Jesus is my co-pilot” bumper sticker. My dad with much wisdom says, “Hmm, I think I would feel better if Jesus did the driving.”
Thanks for the comment Allen. Dad’s have more wisdom than we realize!
I agree, great point, and I would take it a step farther. Bumper stickers don’t work for the same reason t-shirts don’t work. Think about it. It is somewhat a taboo, can be impolite, or can even a little awkward to randomly talk about such a personal subject in such an impersonal place like the back of your car. We’ve put the gospel in an awkward setting to begin with, how do we expect people to approach it with ease?
The easiest way to convince anyone of anything is, not showing off our debating skills or flashing a message before their eyes but is being selfless in little ways, putting other’s needs before our own, showing decent respect and dignity in every situation, really representing Christ on earth. THINK about it! People are convinced because of action to begin with. Their conclusions have been made, not from any amount of evidence, but because of how they’ve seen Christian’s act in the past. People are not convinced in the present or in the future, but because of past behavior. More than likely too many non-Christians was around or saw a Christian being stuck up, arrogant, snobby, stubborn, controlling and having a “better than you” mentality. It wasn’t statistics or scientific research which lead them to what they believe, it was circumstance or behavior.
Sorry, I meant to say, the best way to convince the world the Truth of the Gospel, that Jesus is who He says He is… not, the easiest way to convince others of anything…
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
there were like no bumper stickers in that clip!
Not visually Neilster, but he talked about two different bumper stickers that he thought were silly.
i was hoping for pictures of random terrible bumper stickers…preferrably from the neighborhood…
As a young Christian I adopted a theology that said God is sovereign. Thirty years later I tell you God is not in control of all things. If He were I would not still sin.
I do not debate the merits or value of a bumper sticker but I do think that Jesus wants me to drive. I am not too sure about the copilot concept. I am certain of His leadership. Jesus does show me the way; the path of life. I am certain that I must chose to follow. I am certain that I am also free not too. I am certain that His love is consistent regardless of my choice. I am certain that I feel his good favor when I chose to honor Him with the direction of my life. I am certain that I hurt the heart of God when I go my own way. His course is always perfect. So….if a copilot shows you the way, navigates, then Jesus could be my metaphorical copilot.
Great thoughts Ed, thanks!
